Vinny Coiro, owner of The Wise Ash Lounge & Speakeasy in Endicott—and a good friend of the Police Gazette—has accepted the offer of a vice presidency at a company down South and will be moving on from our humble valley. As a result, Vinny has closed the Wise Ash and put the building at 59 Washington Ave up for sale. At the Wise Ash’s last-night party August 30th, Vinny said, “My dream has been fulfilled and I can now say we had the only speakeasy-styled bar in all of upper New York State and the only bar in all of New York to have opened since the ban in 2002 that allowed smoking.”
During the farewell bash, discounted martinis and jazz music flowed all night. Our area will be a less hopping place without him and the Wise Ash around. We wish Vinny all the best in his future endeavors.
